Welcome

TAKE ACTION A non-profit supporting high school students, in South King County in earning their high school diploma and
preparing them for their unique futures; whether that involves college, trade/technical school or direct entry into the workplace.

TAKE ACTION IN REVIEW

The 2008-2009 school year was our first full year and a great success! We implemented our Professional Day Program, spending time with 300 plus ninth graders. We collected 288 student sureys and 94% stated the program was valuable ! (see pics in our photo section).

We also conducted our Spring Seminars, working to inspire and motivate struggling freshmen. The data from our first seminar indicated 97% of these students derived value from our session, with many stating interest in participating in future semiars (40 students). We received a similar response in 0ur second seminar. All but one student agreed our program helped them better understand the importance of staying in school (3o) students.
Anther new event was the End of Year Luncheon. Take Action brought in Joanna's Catering & Entertainment Inc. to provide a special lunch as we recapped the year!

2009-2010 SCHOOL YEAR

We are extremely excited about the current school year! Kent Meridian has a new program called the Freshmen Academy, with roughly 100 9th graders. We'll be working directly with this group of students all year.

Our goal is to also to keep students engaged during the summer break, by providing information on summer programs and activities and awarding internships to our Take Action standouts.

Take Action is incorporated by the State of Washington and has a Tax ID number. We are also exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Your contributions are tax deductible under section 170 of the Code.
